Communication

Learning to connect

If you know someone who is struggling to meet their communication needs through speech then I can help. There are a range of services to meet you and the person you are supporting exactly where you are on your communication journey to move to the next level.

Literacy

Literacy for everyone

Does it seem as though the person you care about is struggling to read and write, did you know this may be the practices used rather than their disability? I offer a range of services to help develop literacy skills.

Behaviour

Understanding is key

Do you sometimes struggle to understand the behaviour of someone you care about? Challenging behaviour is a term only used for those with disabilities and often people consider the disability is the underlying reason for the behaviour. I would like to change your understanding and thinking behind behaviour to be person-centred.

I offer flexible and bespoke services to meet your needs. All services can be delivered in person or online.

I can work individually or in small or large groups.

I work with individuals with communication access needs, families, and professionals. I can also provide training for the team supporting the individual.

I am also flexible with time between sessions. I see individuals weekly, fortnightly, monthly or on an ad hoc basis.

My personal and professional experience allows me to support people with many different aspects of disability. Some examples of this include:

  • exploring regulation supports

  • gathering and presenting relevant information about communication

  • recruitment and training of support staff

  • Supported decision making and person centered planning

  • exploring friendships and relationships
